>> whereas Rod the Mod has continued to scour the bottom of the musical >> barrel. As much as I would love to see a Faces reunion, I think that opportunity was lost years ago. Rod doesn't have the chops anymore that are needed to pull off a vintage Faces rock show, and the heart of the band is no longer with us. That's not to say I wouldn't be first in line if they did decide to do it, and any band with Woody and Mac is a band worth standing in line to see. Sure, he's crooning for dollars, and he hit a gold mine doing so. But if you check out the Royal Albert Hall DVD, you'll see that he can still put on a great show. I just prefer the early rocking Rod, and I think that he and Woody were a team that shouldn't have split - neither one has done anything since that equals what they accomplished together. IMHO, of course. The saddest part (to me) is that a Faces reunion back in 1990 or so would not only have been more musically credible (than now), it would have raised a lot of money for Mac and Lane at a time when both could have really used it. Ditto recording "Ooh La La" when the songwriter was alive to enjoy the royalties. cheers b
