I think the Pipettes "We Are The Pipettes" made quite a few Best of 2006 lists (I know it made mine).  So many on this list may already be aware ot this trio of UK women who model themselves after 60's girl groups.  However, it was a gloomy cool morning in the Northeast, and I needed something to liven up my morning commute.  Since I had not played it in awhile, I choose to pop it in the CD player and it instantly brightened up the commute.   It's a perfect summertime CD.  Great girl group harmonies and "hits" galore.  

I  think this CD would appeal to many on this list.  I don't think the CD has been officially released in the USA (someone can correct me if I am wrong), but you can download it from iTunes (for a lot less than the import).
