I haven't listened to commercial radio for a long, long time, but I was in a waiting room the other day and heard something very strange. The DJ said something like, "And now, 'Drowning In The Rain,' the latest from Coffee Nerves, on STAR 98.7!" An excerpt of the song's chorus played underneath the entire voiceover intro-- --and then they played the song itself, in its entirety, from the beginning. WTF? Is this a common practice now-- giving you a "teaser" piece of the track immediately before playing the whole thing? Do they think our attention spans have shrunk to zero? (Could be, in my case; the gimmick itself took so much of my attention that I didn't even retain the real song title and band name; I made them up in my description above.) Guess it's better than not ID'ing at all (Remember the "If You Play It, Say It" campaign?) but... wow. -- Drew -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
