The last time I saw The Posies was at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC (for their  
Ryko cd release) with get this - The Chamber Strings and The Pernice  Brothers 
opening!  The guys in the Posies were passing a HUGE thermos of  tequila 
amongst themselves all night and proceeded to get themselves quite  shitfaced and 
practically on their knees.  Stringfellow was in total punk  rock mode 
spitting into the air and swinging his Danalectro around and a rather  chunky Auer 
played some of the show laying on his back on the floor.   Still, they were 
poweful, melodic and most of the vocals were spot on.   Another time I saw them on 
the Amazing Disgrace tour at Lupos in Providence,  Rhode Island and 
Stringfellow wore a skirt for the show and looked rather like  Carol Burnett!  LOL.  
Their most glorious shows to me were on the  Frosting On The Beater tour and of 
course Dear 23 is one of my desert island  discs!
