>>Someone asked, I answered. It is a discussion board after all. Sorry if you didn't get the response you wanted or expected.<< This sums up the split between what makes this list an addictive and fascinating read, yet also what makes 95% of the people on the list reluctant to post. Do the laws of social conduct not apply here ? Do we normally mock people that we don't really know? Why is it okay for some members to be rude, yet others get kicked off the list when they are only responding to an attack? I somewhat agree with Jason's previous post about ageism (or youthism). I don't think people who have younger tastes get slammed, but you can tell the age of most list members by topic threads - WAY too many posts about Beatles, Kinks, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love'em too, but there is a whole lot of music out there that deserves merit. It's like talking about hockey with some older men - they just want to talk about how great Bobby Orr was, and they aren't interested in hearing about Sidney Crosby, etc. I also thought his slam about "balding men curled up with their Goldmine" was funny, until I found out he wrote for All Music Guide:-P Since this is a forum, the obvious retort would be "well, why don't you make more posts about the music you are interested in?" And, this is an excellent point, except that some people are probably scared of the (witty?) sarcasm that we have seen exorcised time and time again..
