New albums I'm digging: CITY MORNING SONG -- Sarah Shannon: ex-Velocity Girl singer returns with her best record since COPACETIC, a mature album with some Bacharachesque touches (muted trumpets, major-seventh piano chords, that sort of thing) that avoids retro kitsch. Terrific album, out two weeks from yesterday, available now on eMusic. HEADACHES AND MOODSWINGS -- The 20 Belows: Danish pop-punk band that's picking up where the Mr. T Experience left off (now that Dr. Frank is off being a bestselling young-adult author) in the "most adorable band ever" sweepstakes. There's a fine line between pop-punk and power pop at one end of the spectrum, and these guys are straddling it. Recently popped up on the iPod: "Get It On (Bang A Gong)" -- T.
