There's a TV appearance from the early to mid-70's where Todd introduces "Couldn't I Just Tell You" and says something to the effect that it's representative of a genre of music called "power pop".  It was the first time I remember hearing that term.

Some of the other Todd fans on the list probably could probably fill in my fuzzy memory gaps.

I totally agree that it doesn't get much better than Pete Ham with 'No 
Matter What' and Todd Rundgren with Couldn't I Just Tell You'. 

I would add The Rubinoos' 'I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend' and countless 
other tracks with the astonishing guitar work of Tommy Dunbar.
