I wonder if it actually was a cue by the writer, albeit maybe subliminal on 
his part, of a bitterness towards Marvel on Cockrum's part as he is mentioned 
only wearing and sleeping in DC clothes. Maybe that's why the writer put it in, 
only he didn't want to start any trouble.
