I don't get to the Triangle that often so I've never seen these guys live. But hot damn, they're good! I like stuff on The Wee Hours Revue but North Carolina's Newset Hitmakers is a killer EP, with tight musicianship and great vocals (sounds like Jagger singing for An Americana band!)...two solid studio tunes from the album, two live unplugged tracks plus a really sweet cover of "God Only Knows" (and a hidden bonus rave-up of "Hey Ya"!). Wurlitzer sounds beeeeeuuuutiful, too. If that's not a ringing enough endorsement, Chris Stamey mixed three of the songs. So they have my vote. Check 'em out. b
