Paul Nelson (who is interviewed throughout "No Direction Home") actually gave me "The Great White Wonder" which was the first bootleg I ever owned in 1972. There's a very funny and quite small footnote to those English tours (1965 and 1966). In "Don't Look Back" there's an English college student (if you remember) who is trying very hard to be friends with Dylan and Alan Price...and making quite a spectacle of himself. In the PBS Rock And Roll History...the very same student (had to be by pure chance as no one had yet seen "Don't Look Back") is interviewed on film a year later in 1966 after an electric concert and is spewing bile about how Dylan has "gone to the gutter and was a phony and was having them all on and had sold out". It's the very same guy...amazing!
