One old show, one much more recent:

1) Pablo Cruise opening for Billy Joel at Berkeley Community Theater in 
1977. Neither had yet broken through in a huge way---and both acts 
featured some brilliant keyboard work (says the guy who hopelessly 
dabbles on keys).

2) Jason Falkner opening for Travis at the Warfield in San Francisco--- 
three years ago, maybe? What I do remember is the respect Travis, the 
headliner, showed for Jason, the opener---having the whole of Travis 
join him for his last song. Travis surprised me by being a lot more 
powerful live than on CD, too

During the Travis set, at one point all the stage lights and mikes were 
turned off, except for one spot on Francis Healy. The Warfield is a 
pretty big hall (1500 or so)---and Healy had every one in attendance in 
the palm of his hand as he did a quiet acoustic number. With no 
amplification, he projected to the entire house--- it was a very cool 
moment in live performance.
