> Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye (best Motown album ever??) I knew there was a killer one that I was forgetting. Bingo, Michael! I guess in the general public's perception Fleetwood Mac's s/t album - the first Buckingham/Nicks one - was a comeback of sorts. Personally the whole Bare Trees/Kiln House/Mystery To Me/Penguin/Future Days/Heroes period (I know I typed them out of sequence) is my favorite, even though I also enjoy much of the latter era and the Green/Spencer blues era. Two great comebacks are among my favorite records of 2006, from bands who hadn't made a record in 30 years - Jo Jo Gunne and Cactus. JJG is the original foursome (I forgot what a great slide player Andes is) with about half new and half credible remakes; they sound better than ever. Cactus is the original band minus the late Rusty Day - and just having Jim McCarty wailing on guitar again has made my year. They're supposed to be touring (beyond the NYC and Euro Festival dates they did last month) and I am so *there* if they do. Bruce Brodeen, take heed! cheers b
