Neil Young sprung to my mind as someone that took huge artist risks and failed big time, at times, so one might say he was inconsistent. But, I mean they still were more part of his strange process then not having the creative spark to write a good song (I assume). Conversely, I've actually had a harder time agreeing with people's lists of consitent great songwriters per I could think of songs that clunked (to my mind) by most of them. OK, for me I have most of Richard Hawley's work and he comes close to my ears for the sound he's going for but still, a short career thus far. Yeah, I would agree with the sentiment that a consistant song writter with a long career would be hard to find. Steve D (sick that I wasn't able to catch Adam Marsland's show last night) More reviews please....
