Which reminds me, I'm reading two books that have recently come out....
and they might appeal to fans of this Laurel Canyon styled "rock"...i.e.
country rock, folk rock, cocaine and hot tub rock....

Barney Hoskyns wrote a book called Hotel California: The True-life 
Adventures of Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, Mitchell, Taylor, Browne, 
Ronstadt, Geffen, the Eagles, and Their Many Friends

and the other book is Laurel Canyon : The Inside Story of Rock-and-Roll's 
Legendary Neighborhood by Michael Walker

So far, both are pretty good.
