Is the import different from the domestic? I don't think there's any difference in the two versions, no. The cool parts of DEMON are very cool indeed: specifically, "It Is The Law" and "Sister In Love" are two of my favorite songs so far this year. "It Is The Law" reminds me a lot of the classic Pixies style, in that it's a two-minute song with one line of lyrics repeated endlessly, but it sounds like a fully-formed pop song nonetheless. However, it's a really wide-ranging record, and overall, I don't like the songs that the guy sings as much as I do the ones the girl sings, but that's probably due to my fondness for female singers. There are certainly Auditeers who would find this album incredibly irritating -- in general, if you don't care for the experimental, noisy end of pop, you should steer clear, because these are the kinds of songs that have detuned guitar solos or early-Eno synth twiddles unexpectedly show up in the middle -- but overall, I give it a thumbs up. I also just got their new non-LP single "Free Jazz," which I like even more than the album. S
