iTunes is easy and useful for a quick burn, but Nero is king (or emperor, I guess). I think if you buy the full-fledged version, you even get crossfading options. Even the OEM version that ships with CD burners includes non-destructive editing options like fade-in/fade-out, level setting, and all kinds of groovy stuff like that.
