It's odd to see you try to describe IF > YOU DIDN'T LAUGH YOU'D CRY without using the word "Dylan," though..... Actually I was describing their show, not the record. Auditeers will probably enjoy "Walt Whitman Bridge", "City Of Dreams" and the hidden track "This Time" which are probably the strongest pop songs; I'm all over them both plus "The Hustle" (gas pedal to the floor on that one) and "Sooner or Later" (that riff will worm into your head and stay there). Dylan? Well..."The Apartment" is like listening to Dylan sing "Willin'" or Lowell try a Bahhhb tune; "Dishwasher's Dream" could BE Bahhhb. Like Bahhhb, Serge's voice is an acquired taste but I think it really fits his songs; Dave's is an immediate hit if you like the soul/sandpaper/smoke of a Graham Parker, Southside, Rod, Cooke, etc. And I do. As to Carolinas, they were in Raleigh in December (last 2005 show) and Charlotte last June. I'm sure they'll be back as they tour like mofos. b
