I don't own anything by Mr. Fulks, but I saw him perform at Bumbershoot in Seattle a few years ago. He puts on a helluva good show. The highlights of the show were 1) a duet with a 7 year old girl from the audience (evidently her idea, because she knew Kelly Willis' part, and there were no women on stage that night) 2) a fabulous cover of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean", just Robbie and his acoustic guitar. Incidentally, he was planning on releasing a whole album of Jackson covers, when the whole trial thing was going on, and he decided to hold back on its' release. Anyway most of his material is country, but in my mind good songs are good songs. I'm very glad I did; it's tons of fun. I love FOW but know nothing about Robbie Fulks. Any Fulks fans (or detractors, for that matter) want to bring me up to speed?
