Eggers sent Partridge a number of song ideas and one of the songs was a piano demo called "receiving me" Partridge sent Eggers back a completed song demo with drums, vocals, guitars etc. ...Partridge wrote the new lyrics and music to the chorus of the song. I believe that initially the Nines were trying to convince Andy to sing on the track as well but I have since heard that the song was rerecorded by the Nines.
