So I bought the two McCartney Chaos and Creation B-sides (why do we still call them that?) from his website, for a pound a piece (that's a buck seventy-two), and boy did my woes begin. The files are .wma with DRM, so I couldn't import them into iTunes (or put them on my iPod); and I couldn't easily convert them. OK, so I opened Wave Recorder, played each file through Windows Media Player, captured it as .wavs in Wave Recorder, edited out the silences at the beginning and end (I started up Wave Recorder before starting the Windows Media Player, and ended after it stopped), raised the volume on the resulting .wav files to appropriate levels, saved them, and then converted the new .wavs to MP3 using MusicMatch Jukebox. Oh, and I had to rename the files too, both on my hard drive and in iTunes. Maybe there was an easier way to do all this. But I was so annoyed at the work I had to do after PAYING for these songs in order to use them, that I have half a mind to email the MP3s to anyone who asks.
