Critics have often cited the song as an homage to The Beach Boys and 
Beatles' trip into transcendental floss, but with Flo & Eddie's harpooning 
cynicism (a la Frank Zappa), it's more of a direct call and response to the 
Beach Boys' "TM Song" also from 1976.
