I heard the Line CD of "Back To The Drawing Board' was a needle-drop with very poor sound quality. Castle UK put out the "Rubinoos Anthology" a couple years back. Its all the first album plus half of "Drawing Board". Despite good sound quality it was a disapointing comp by Castle which usually does a good to outstanding job on all thier reissues. The Rubes need a good Anthology with their best LP cuts plus all the rare singles (Gorilla) flipsides (the brilliant sunny "As Long As I'm With You" - Which I played many more times than the A side!) several tracks from the "Party of 2" EP, maybe even a few cuts from Vox Pop. > Hey man, I'm just a valet in their parking lot... > > ...and as many of you know, the Ampex name has been quite sullied over > the last decade or two. Every roll of 456 and 457 out of Opelika, > Alabama needs to be baked before it can be safely used again. > Marty I have some old old 50's-60's vintage reels made by a company called "Irish" with the Opelika, Alabama address stamped on the reels - did this company get bought out by Ampex later on or was that thier budget label? Another great MySpace band - http://www.myspace.com/checkpointcharley Billy G. http://listen.to/jangleradio (now rockin' in Mp3pro stereo!)
