The regulations regarding podcasting music are still
gray.  That's why every radio station I know,
including WFMU, is opting to podcast only shows that
are primarily talk programming, or those that feature
only snippets of music (with the exception of
occasional local music shows, where all the bands are
likely to give their permission).  A friend at ASCAP
told me at this point they have decided not to go
after podcasters, but BMI has made no such claims.
