Ho peeps! Just back from our week in Toronto - my gosh, was it warm or what! Only one CD purchase made there - Sloan's "A Sides Win" with a very nifty bonus DVD containing all the single videos + live versions of each song + a short interview about the making of each video + other stuff I ain't looked at yet. Sam the Man's record shop seemed a lot dearer than I remembered but then again maybe I am just getting old. Anyway, who needs to buy CDs when one can go straight to Russian websites and download music for "f-all". Just kidding, Anna & Co. We had a nice meal in Toronto at a place called Jamie Kennedy's Wine Bar, all the food came Tapas style. However if you ever visit, be wary of wine recommendations from the waitress who looks like Sally Fields - when I complained that my glass of Zweigel (Austrian red wine - I got the last of an open bottle, Janice got the first of a new bottle) tasted corked, "Sally" sniffed mine, sniffed Janice's, made a face and poured Janice's + the rest of the new bottle down the sink! "But it was mine that was off ...", I protested to no avail. Och well. Other stuff I have been digging - HAL's self titled debut (should go down a treat with Auditeers, I expect Dave Bash would enjoy this one a lot), the new Churchill's CD, "The Odds of Winning" - with a free 3-track EP when purchased from NotLame. Oh, and Motorhead's Greatest Hits - you need some roughage with your pop after all! Bob
