It's a scam. They send you money orders for an amount much higher than the purchase price, and ask you to remit the difference. The money orders turn out to be fakes. One of the victims wrote up her experience in a recent issue of Washington, DC, "City Paper". The con artist--or at least someone with an identical prose style--also makes wildly inflated offers on merchandise listed in classified ads.
