Weird - I'm having one of those All Roads Lead To.....sorts of weeks re: Triumph. I would like to state for the record that I LOVE "Lay it On the Line." Almost as much as I love "Ah Leah," and "Street of Dreams" by Rainbow. Do! You! Re! Mem! Ber! Me! o-hon the stree-et of dreams! Did that dude sound just like Lou Gram, or was I just younger then? In seemingly unrelated news, I had a moment of sheer ridiculousness today coming home on Lake Shore Drive (always an opening movie shot in the making, IMHO, speeding up LSD) - a lovely chicago spring day, early crowds wandering around Grant Park and the Lake, traffic not too terrible, the wind in my hair, the day in front of me, and the song that was playing was...."Hot Girls In Love." God help me; Loverboy. So instead of feeling like a hellhot indie rock racer girl I pull into town feeling a little bit like Sonny Crockett, truly, truly amazed at how much of that song I could authoritatively sing along to. How similar is that to "the heat is on," anyway? And did they cannibalize "HGIL" for "Workin for the Weekend," or was it the other way around? Now "Lovin Every Minute of It..." That would have been almost appropriate. And I note with some amusement that there is a Triumph anthology coming out this week called Livin for the Weekend. Close enough! Dang, all of this chatter about Triumph sends me back in time; and has made me want to go fish out my sisters Trillion 8-tracks. Surely she must have them tucked away somewhere? --kelly np: that mars volta "widow" song and I'm SUCH an assmonkey for not getting tickets to see them next week - TWO sold-out shows, Mon and Tues. Shame on me. I flubbed Alkaline Trio, too....sold out. Dang. --- Jaimie Vernon wrote: > At Date: Sat, 14 May 2005 07:46:03 Kurt wrote: > > >How about Triumph with Yngwie Malmsteen and > Mountain and the > >Meadowlands...like 1987, sold out.
