The Curb CD '21 Hits" has 7 tracks from "Crazy Horses" on it with good remastering - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000000DDJ/qid=1112809529/sr=1-15/ref=sr_1_15/104-5957903-1892749?v=glance&s=music I have two copies (good but not mint shape) of "Crazy Horses" that look like they were pressed at 2 different record plants, and they both suffer from tinny mastering - MGM was one of the worst major companies in thier mastering and cheap pressings.. But I agree with Micheal and Joe its thier best album. Kudos to Mike Curb for letting the group write/produce/play almost everything on it and also "The Plan" - which I think is overated by thier fans. Also worth finding is the album before it "Part 3" whas the great "My Drum" and a fun R&B track called "Business" thats good for mix tape/CD surprising. And the groups pre-MGM tracks on Columbia, UNI and Barnaby are worth seeking out. They tried surf and soft pop before settling on bubblegum Billy http://listen.to/jangleradio Michael McCartney wrote: >Joe wrote: > >"Best album of the year so far: Aslyn - Lemon Love." > >Michael adds: > >I've been digging this girl too! Great stuff. > >On another side note...I just played "Crazy Horses" by The Osmonds to kick off the radio show last Friday afternoon. Or was it Saturday? My life is a blur sometimes. I've got it on vinyl but never bothered to transfer it to CD because of a few clicks here and there. I played the song from a CD that was officially released. Of course, it wasn't the original album but a compiliation. There's even some sort of video bonus but I haven't taken the time to view it. I don't know if I've thrown it out there before on this list but listening to the early Osmond material like "Crazy Horses" gives me the impression that this is where KISS got there sound from. Coincidence? I mentioned this on the air and "oh my gosh" - the Kiss Army called me up non stop for almost thirty minutes. You'd think that I was political talk show host trying to tick off the audience to stir calls. KISS fans didn't think it was in the least bit funny. Seriously listen to those rock songs from The! > Osmonds > (before all the Donny ballads) and you'll not only hear KISS but some of those heavy metal acts from the eighties.
