Checking emails on Sunday morning, there was an announcement from Peter 
Green who runs the Split Enz/Crowded House fanclub. Peter announced that 
Paul Hester took his own life yesterday. As a longtime fan, this is 
devastating news. I only met him once. It was in Minneapolis during the 
Together Alone tour.  It wasn't long before he decided to leave the band. 
But the day I met him, he was in good spirits, very kind to me and my 
friends. He brought such a huge contribution to the chemistry and spirit of 
the band. He leaves behind a fiancee and 2 daughters.
