Billy writes, "I bet the band thinks "Stacy's Mom" was a fluke hit. That doesnt excuse them for selling it for a Dr. Pepper commercial." I know we've been over this many, many times before but I can't understand this at all. It's not as if "Stacy's Mom" is a profound landmark of music, another "Blowing in the Wind". It's a fun little parody of the Cars, that's all. Why not sell it to Dr. Pepper, and even Kleenex, for that matter? And again, I believe that musicians should get as much money as they can TODAY, if that's their desire. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? And if Bob Dylan wants to sell "Blowin' in the Wind" to Kleenex, I say go for it. Also, speaking of Adam Schlesinger, I belatedly discovered the soundtrack to "That Thing You Do". What a gem! Especially the songs done by "The Wonders", the fictional rock band made up of actors including Jonathan Schaech. A killer evocation of that mid-sixties sound that auditeers love so much. Take care, Sherman
