Revisiting the SCTV stuff is a real treat. The Plasmatics also performed a tune and played along with the bit as well. And in between fishing, the musicians would perform a song or two? I recall an episode where Robert Gordon was hanging out at the lodge. It was cool to see/hear him perform Marshall Crenshaw's "Someday, Someway". As an aside, I think around the same (early 80's) NBC's Tom Snyder began hosting music acts on his late night show. I remember seeing The Ramones, The Jam, Adam and the Ants, U2 and the infamous Plasmatics perform on his show. I think that for most of these groups, his show offered them their first US appearance on TV. At the time, I thought he enjoyed having these acts on, but in later interviews, old Tom stated that the network brass pushed the acts on him in a failed attempt to boost ratings with the college crowd.> np: De Novo Dahl
