It certainly is a very "70s British singer/songwriter" album, kinda peppy and show-bizzy in places. If anything Deram-era Bowie comparisons would be more apropos. Good stuff, but actually '03, not '04. However, there is a 2004 John Howard reissue CD on RPM called Technicolour Biography, which is essentially made up of unfinished tracks that were ultimately to make up a proposed second album. It's a bit different from 'Kid' in that the productions are much more minamalist and quite pretty, with fine songwriting. The album made #27 on my Top Reissue-Proper Album list of 2004. Gee Bryan, I'm surprised you didn't notice that! :-) -- Pop Rules!!!!! Take Care, David
