I'd also throw out both Darla (www.darla.com) and Insound 
(www.insound.com) for scoping out new releases -- in particular, 
Insound was the place that hipped me to Dungen, among others, and 
their mp3 page has been something of a drain on my bank account for 
ages.

Plus, I just this afternoon got an order from Darla that included a 
freebie sampler from Microindie Records in Grand Rapids MI -- before 
the disc was even over, I was already at www.microindie.com dropping 
$30 (including shipping) on all four CDs by Sodastream and writing a 
note to remind myself to pick up the new Steinbecks CD after payday.
