We've been using removable hard-drives. Which, I've got to tell you, is a royal pain in the ass. Especially if the sessions are more than 10 songs (a drive only holds about that many multi-track files). We nearly lost the Kings last studio album because the studio where the album was being done needed their computer freed up for a follow-up session. We had blown every last dime on the recording process and hadn't budgeted for the additional hard-drives to save the material as back-up. The studio was going to erase the stuff.....or burn everything onto 465 separate CDR's....fortunately we were able to find someone with a hard drive we temporarily borrowed to save the sessions.
