The Rock And Roll Trio are even better than wonderful, they are real originators. I've had the album that Solid Smoke licensed in the '70 which just kills. Recently I got the Hip-O-Select limited edition. Anyone who likes Rock and Roll and considers their collection to be well rounded, needs either of these.... for ages you could get cut outs of the the Solid Smoke release cheap... I'd buy them up and give 'em to friends. The Johnny and Dorsey solo stuff is pretty straight singer stuff, a little like Ricky Nelson, but nothing ever hit me like those early sides.
