Thank you Mr. Vernon for filling me with the holiday spirit this morning. 
Yes, why should you "give a rat's ass" that someone innocent was shot and killed. 
Why indeed. John Lennon was shot on an earlier Dec. 8. I seem to recall that 
a lot of his songs and actions were about promoting peace and love and stuff 
like that. But hey, he chose to live in the USA so I guess he somehow deserved 
to get shot too, because of the gun policies here. 

Even if one isn't a big fan of someone's music, it is still a tragedy when 
someone gets killed. 

We all should "give a rat's ass" because the world would be a better place if 
we did.

But hey, to each his own.
