I had a freind call me who was a old freind of Pantera - watched them begin as a high school Cars cover band (how they got their name), evolve into a ridiculous-looking hair band, playing many nights on the DFW club and Southwest Metal scene before they signed with Atlantic and became superstars. He was in a severe state of shock. Still no word on why the guy did it. It's such a shame, even though I never was a fan and couldnt stand much of thier music - Dimebag and Vinnie were always supportive of younger bands in the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene and showed up at many shows. I even remember them putting in a good word for Sugarbomb and Cherry Blossom Clinic. Billy At 09:00 AM 12/9/2004 -0500, you wrote: > >I saw the story this morning too.
