The Miracles answered the Silhouettes' hit "Get a Job" with the Smokey
Robinson-penned "Got a Job".

Hank Ballard & the Midnighters recorded not one, but two sequels to their
salacious 50s R&B hit "Work With Me, Annie": "Annie Had a Baby" and "Annie's
Aunt Fanny".

Buddy Holly followed up "Peggy Sue" with "Peggy Sue Got Married".

The Beatles made reference to three of their previous songs ("Strawberry
Fields Forever", "I Am the Walrus", and "The Fool on the Hill") in "Glass
Onion". The Who echoed the stuttered refrain of "My Generation" in "The Punk
Meets the Godfather". And Rick Nelson alluded both to his own "Hello, Mary
Lou" and Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" in "Garden Party".
