One of my favorite jazz pianists is Fred Hersch. He's been an incredibly prolific player in the past dozen years or so and has put out some absolutely incredible albums. In the mid-90's, he did a string of tribute albums, starting with "Passion Flower," a stunningly gorgeous tribute to Billy Strayhorn (Duke Ellington's right hand man and composer of some of Duke's more enduring standards). He's got an extraordinarily fluid sense of melody. Great, great stuff. Another excellent current pianist is Frank Kimbrough. He did a duo album with vibist Joe Locke a few years ago called "Saturn's Child" that fits that late night contemplative mood like a glove. I'll second the Jobim suggestion as well. "Getz/Gilberto" is a great place to branch out from your Astrud comp (but will likely have an overlapped tune or two).
