received news of this on three unrelated mailing lists. Music, of course,
comics and even football (that's soccer to you yanks)...

Back in the dark days of the early 80s (per-internet), Peel's program on BBC
World Service was a window to another world...and gave me (esp in the alt.
rock starved cultural desert that is Singapore) access to some of the
greatest music of the time... he will be missed.
