I loved it, anyway. Sure, the sound system was muddy (and that's being charitable), and Adam said the harmonies weren't going quite where they intended to go, but this is a terrific band, and it shows even on an off night. Evie Sands is the ace-in-the-hole, as her vocals added a delectable soul to everything the band did, and her harmonies with bassist Teresa Cowles were a treat that transcended any technical glitch. They were so cool visually, as well, with Adam cemter-stage flanked by the left-handed Evie on his right and the right-handed Teresa on his left. My decade-long appreciation of Adam's work is already a matter of public record, but I really love the Chaos Band. Off night or not, their performance deepened my appreciation for Adam's new album, and I hope they come to Syracuse again someday. ("An off night." Jeez, I wish some bands' ON nights were as compelling as The Chaos Band's off nights....) CC!
