> Aha - found the credit. Thanks. You younger auditeers can't fully > appreciate the personal hell of being an old fart and trying to read cd > liner copy. I sure miss lps! Speaking of which, the vinyl version (out in a couple of weeks) has bonus tracks - instrumental mixes of several songs, to make it a double album. I wanted to get the vinyl version, obviously (as well as my normal preference for vinyl), so I went to HMV yesterday. I'd ordered the Wonderful 7" single from there, and a week earlier it hadn't been available - apparently only 1/3 of the orders had been shipped on time, despite which it went top 30. So I went over to the counter. They were actually looking through the Wonderful singles when I got there, for the customer in front of me, so I asked if mine had arrived yet (it hadn't). I then asked if Smile had come in on vinyl yet, and was told they'd actually just been asked that by the customer in front, and that it hadn't arrived yet. I went to Piccadilly Records around the corner (as an independent shop this would normally have been first stop, but of course I'd ordered the single from HMV) and asked there. They said it wouldn't be in for another couple of weeks, so I went to get a CD copy. As I took it to the counter, the customer at the counter was speaking: "Excuse me, do you have the new Brian Wilson album?" "We do." "On vinyl?".... (Incidentally, I decided to buy the CD 'for my girlfriend', who's returning to the USA in a month, and loves the album too. That way I can justify buying it now *and* getting the vinyl copy). On a semi-related note, and not wanting to seem like I'm spamming, but I've recently started doing a webcomic on the subject of Smile.
