Just tuned to MOXY II over the weekend and CriMINEY, this band >kicked ass! but I'll leave the stories w/ MOXY to Jaime...... I was too young for the original Moxy....but I've been fortunate enough to have worked with them since their reunion album 1999. For the uninitiated, Moxy's lead singer "Buzz" Sherman was to Canadian hard rock what Robert Plant was to the British scene. Buzz died tragically in a motorcycle accident in the early '80s (having already quit the band and been replaced by one Mike Reno....later of Loverboy fame)...soon the band abandoned ship following his passing....before reuniting in 1997 with a new vocalist Brian Maxim. Alas, original drummer Bill Wade died of cancer a few years ago...and was too sick to enjoy the fruits of touring the Moxy "V" album in 2000 and 2001. Original bassist Terry Juric took a pass on the road too as his health is also failing leaving only guitarists Buddy Caine and Earl Johnson waving the flag. The rhythm section for the last 3 years has been Kim Hunt and Jim Sampson better known as members of Pomp Rock act Zon. Since doing the live album "Raw" in 2002, the band has had a bitch of a time capitalizing on their previous fame....only maintaining a fanbase in San Antonio, Texas and Sweden. In their native Toronto they can no longer get arrested. ...prompting them to switch singers, once more, last year to A Foot In Coldwater's Alex Machin....who is equally as talented as the original Buzz Sherman. Closer to home, Buzz's widow, Val was the one who gave me my first break with Bullseye back in 1985. She ran the manufacturing division of AHED Music then and took a green kid with no business experience and helped me design, press and distribute our first 12" EP -- "The Wonderful World Of....Moving Targetz". I saw her again for the first time in 16 years a few months ago and was finally able to thank her for contributing to OUR story. Jaimie Vernon, Bullseye
