> From: "Stephen Thorn" > Hi Stephen, it was good seeing you again! Well I kept myself busy that evening at the merch table warding off some VERY strange individuals. Must have been the blue moon. To pick up where Stephen left off, I-94 was the weakest act of the night. Their track on the IPO cd is one of my favs but live they were a big disappointment, very generic. They had a fairly large fan base at the show. As one person put it, this what is being spoon fed to the masses. That pretty much sums it up. The Waking Hours put on really rocking set. Playing mostly tunes from their last cd and a few new ones. I really enjoyed this set. The evening ended with Rembrandts. Very jangly and great harmonies. I'll be posting more later about several of the other shows and some of the cool cd's I picked up........time to get some sleep Cathy > > IPO LA 04 is wrapping up its final weekend. On Friday night, Kenny Howe > demonstrated to be a true pro and kicked off the night at Molly Malone's > with a solo set featuring his famous "Christmas tree lane" guitar. > > FOUR EYE'S Well rehearsed, brilliantly sequenced set got the crowd rushing > toward the stage. I couldn't help but think about the Spirit, My Rich > Uncle's, and the Bacchanal, three now-defunct, pop-friendly San Diego clubs > where Mark DeCerbo and company held court in the old days. It's great to > have them back... > > THE SHAMBLES kept their track record of having played every IPO LA intact > with a riveting set that featured Jeremy and Cockeyed Ghost's Adam Marsland. > Shambles leader Bart Mendoza sat on the energetic STATIC HALO set that > followed. > > Please feel free to add, Cathy..... > > Steve >
