Anyone ever notice that since One Chord to Another
Sloan has progressed five years forward in history? 
One Chord very late '60s inspired. Navy Blues the
early '70s. Bridges the mid '70s. Pretty the late
'70s. Action Pact late '70s to early '80s. While
they're not up to making synth pop records I certainly
get a definite turn-of-the-'80s album rock vibe from
Action Pact.
