Brian James did not play on Jet Boy Jet Girl... http://www.punk77.co.uk/groups/eltonmotello.htm http://www.mp3.com/Elton-Motello/artists/15604/biography.html Elton Motello/Alan Ward was the engineer on the Ca Plane session and did Jet Boy as a lark (version of the story I was told at the time).... I actually met him when I was working at Attic Records, which released the 12" and the album and much later, the post-punk Plastic Bertrand (if you can find the Attic greatest hits lp, you will see my liner notes plus the live tracks recorded in Canada feature Aldo Nova on bass!). Both Elton & Plastic were on RKM Records, Belgium (since folded into Universal). Elton Motello engineered all the RKM tracks (RKM stands for Roland Kluger Music). As an added trivia - Plastic Bertrand (aka Roger Jouret) does NOT sing on Ca Plane Pour Moi - that is actually the song's writer/producer Lou Depryck. They cut the track & then had to find somebody to be Plastic Bertrand.... according to Lou (http://houbi.com/belpop/groups/lou.htm ) at the time, HE sang on all the singles, but I can assure you, having been on tour with Plastic Bertrand, the man can sing and is pretty great live, so i take some of that with a grain of salt... and... much to my utter disbelief - i just did a Google - and.... Plastic is currently touring Quebec with an amazing Montreal new wave pop band called Poxy.... there apparently is a whole glam/sleaze/pop rennaissance going on in Montreal.... wow! great stuff! http://www.poxy-music.com/ they are supposed to be playing New york! on July 22!!! there you go... i can't believe i just did all that :) I have a certain fondness for Belgium and all those guys is probably why.... Ralph And in case you were wondering, ex-Belgian pop pixie Mino has a kids music school in the suburbs of Montreal... Dig that crazy Bongo Beat! Visit my web site Http://www.bongobeat.com
