...speaking as a new runner who just borrowed
someone's wee device to lumber along for 8 miles, I
have to say

1. anything that adds such little weight to my gear
but provides me with such longlasting and quality
distraction is worth its weight in GOLD, particularly
once i get all my "pace" songs on here, and 

2. quality of sound matters less when you have  your
own labored breathing to contend with.

runners are weird.  my comrade did not report anything
defective with her battery.
