Yes Jaimie... you are absolutely right to observe that more than a "Beatle sound" it was more of the "Martinesque sound" in honor to the brilliance of George Martin... For all purposes he was, without a shadow of a doubt, "The 5th Beatle"... It's laughable to look back and see people like Murray the K, when The Beatles first came to America, trying to crown themselves with that honorable title... Thanks to George Martin we were treated to a sped up "From Me To You" (which according to Lennon was going to be a slow Orbison-like ballad)... George Martin "created" the final and forever classic version of "Strawberry Fields" when Lennon & Co. recorded two final takes both with speed variations... Martin told John they couldn't be spliced together... Lennon replied "I know you can fix it" and fix it he did indeed... We could go on and on but there is no doubt that George Martin is the fifth Beatle... Cheers, Miguel
