Seth is now in Spain, on vacation, with his lovely wife Kathy. I had the pleasure of having them at my home 3 days ago, and he told me they are going to play in New York with the Stooges, New York Dolls, .. in the Steve Van Zandt sponsored show. He also brought a CD- R with a rough mix of their new album, and I could sneak to my computer, when he was drunk enough, to make a copy. I have listened to it 10+ times since then, and I have to say is going to be a great surprise to all of you. The songs are some way different from their previous works, but still have something Mocker. But also the 12 songs are very different one from another. You can hear guitars like the Clash in one song, horns and keyboards like the housemartins and (yes!) Wham!, George Harrison style slide guitar, beautiful ballads, fun rock and roll .. and that without sounding derivative at all. I am sure is going to be one of the albums of the year in this year audities poll. The album has been produced by Robbie Rist in his new studio, The Boathouse. He is right now finishing the mixes. There is a spanish record company (Zebra records) interested in releasing the album, and also they will be touring Spain in the fall. I am sure Seth himself will give more details soon Rafael Cabello Madrid, Spain >Date: Mon, 28 Jun 2004 00:12:42 EDT >From: GaryPig@aol.com >To: audities@smoe.org >Subject: Re: Underground garage show >Message-ID: <9.2cf54673.2e10f4ba@aol.com> ><< So are the Mockers gonna play? >> > > > >I think so. > >I certainly HOPE so!! > >You guys still on, >Seth? > >and, if so, >Robbie WILL sing more, >won't he?? > > >hopefully, > >Gary "who just got a nice e-mail from Beatle Bob the other day, btw" Pig > >
