Hey Gang, I recently had the pleasure of catching TallBoy Records very own *Parallax Project* last weekend here in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Hands down the most fun I've had at a show this year so far (including FOW, this was much more intimate). It was the bands fourth night in a row playing, and they still seemed to be having a great time! The songs on the new album are terrific and the selection of covers (sprinkled lovingly throughout) was truly inspired. AND, they're coming back in July! We'll be better prepared next time! (mwah ha ha ha!) They covered an early Kinks tune that I didn't recognize but enjoyed very much, I know all you Kinksian folk on-list would've loved it as well. Thought about all my Auditeer friends throughout the night while enjoying this band, many similar references, touchstones, drinking patterns, ironic t-shirts, geeky "collector issues" and such. The Jane Anchor and Juliana Hatfield next week at the North Star up Philly way! (And hey Anna, I'll make sure Lisa O. gets over here to see the P-Project July show, and I'll promote it via the local email tree as best I can. It'll be nice to have something to highly recommend with confidence to friends again. It's been a while since I could honestly write: "Call the babysitters and take your afternoon naps you old bastards! Come out and see this band! Don't MAKE me come to your house and drag your sorry ass out!") Jeff T. De.
