 Not crazy at all. Or at least I don't think you are. But I am a sucker for
super-Schmaltzy "70's tunes. Heck, almost any super-schmaltzy tune. 

 And your description of it is dead-on. I have always thought he was about
to let the tears flow at that point. Will have to pull out my Dr. Hook CD,
cause it has been a long time since I heard it.
